Personal:

I'm not a runner.  In fact, I hate running.  Why am I doing this to myself then?  I like a challenge, I need to get in better shape, and it's one of those things that is on everyone's life to-do list but hardly anyone ever does it.  This is a great time for it...I've got a group to keep me on track, I'm finally in good health after a long back injury that eventually required surgery, and I'm living in San Diego, CA where the weather is near perfect all the time and I get to run by the ocean every day.

WOW, it's been a long time.  I slacked off big time last month.  Hurt my knee on a long run and got a little freaked out about it so I stopped.  Getting back into it now though, but I'm starting all over again :-(  6 miles today was really rough.  Probably walked about half of it.  Need to make sure and get those short runs in during the week.

I hope your knee gets better. Great job for getting back on track. What group do you run with? I have a good friend in San Diego also training for Rock n Roll, also her first marathon.
