Personal:

I'm not a runner.  In fact, I hate running.  Why am I doing this to myself then?  I like a challenge, I need to get in better shape, and it's one of those things that is on everyone's life to-do list but hardly anyone ever does it.  This is a great time for it...I've got a group to keep me on track, I'm finally in good health after a long back injury that eventually required surgery, and I'm living in San Diego, CA where the weather is near perfect all the time and I get to run by the ocean every day.

4 Miles is pretty much the most I have ever run at one time....EVER!  Now that's where I'm starting and it only goes up from here.  Pretty scary to think about.

The run was actually a bit easier than I thought...and by easier I mean that I didn't think I would even finish, but I did.  I even finished ahead of a few people, which surprised me.

Man, did my legs hurt afterwards though.  I had done my weight lifting class at the gym the night before and was already sore from that to begin with.
